Invasive Species of the Month: Leafy Spurge

In honor of Nebraska Noxious Weed Awareness Month, learn about noxious leafy spurge!

Leafy spurge (Euphorbia esula) is an herbaceous plant that outcompetes native plants, crops, and desirable forage. It is toxic to cattle and horses when ingested and to some humans on contact with the skin. Leafy spurge currently infests approximately 185,000 acres in Nebraska.
